Snellmania, Unioninkatu 37
Carl Ludvig Engel designed the building in the early 1830s for the University’s teaching hospital. The facilities were too small from the outset, and new buildings were constructed in the courtyard in several stages during the 1800s.
The dermatology and venereology clinic of the Helsinki University Central Hospital operated in the building until the 1990s. After a renovation, the Faculty of Social Sciences moved into the facilities.
